A RESOLUTION 1 Expressing condolences on the passing of Dennis McNamara. 2 WHEREAS, The House of Representatives mourns the loss of 3 Dennis McNamara, an officer with the Upper Darby Police 4 Department, who passed away on January 30, 2002, at the age of 5 43; and 6 WHEREAS, Officer McNamara grew up in Southwest Philadelphia 7 and was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys; and 8 WHEREAS, Officer NcNamara went on to serve our country in the 9 United States Air Force and the Army Reserves; and 10 WHEREAS, An eight-year veteran of the Upper Darby Police 11 Department, Officer McNamara was the first officer in its 12 history to die in the line of duty; and 13 WHEREAS, An active member of the Delaware County Law 14 Enforcement Memorial Foundation and the Upper Darby Honor Guard, 15 where he served at four memorial services, Officer McNamara 16 earned many awards, honors and public recognition during his
1 tenure of service with the Upper Darby Police Department; and 2 WHEREAS, Officer McNamara generously contributed to the 3 benefit of his fellow citizens; therefore be it 4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives note with great 5 sadness the passing of Dennis McNamara and extend heartfelt 6 condolences to his wife, Diane E. Tagmire McNamara, son, Dennis 7 McNamara, Jr., and daughter, Melissa McNamara; and be it further 8 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to 9 the family of Dennis McNamara.
