AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled "An
2 act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public
3 welfare laws of the Commonwealth," providing for a toll-free
4 telephone number for certain information relating to child
5 day-care facilities.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. The act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known
9 as the Public Welfare Code, is amended by adding a section to
10 read:
11 Section 1027. Toll-Free Telephone Number.--The department
12 shall establish, maintain and advertise the availability of a
13 toll-free telephone number by which any person may receive
14 current, prompt and specific information relating to any child
15 day care facility's licensing history, past or current
16 violations and actions taken to remedy past deficiencies or
17 violations. This information shall, upon request, be provided in
1 writing and free of charge to any person.
2 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
