AN ACT 1 Amending the act of November 4, 1983 (P.L.217, No.63), entitled 2 "An act establishing a program of limited pharmaceutical 3 assistance for the elderly; granting powers to and imposing 4 duties on the Department of Aging; establishing a payment 5 system; making provisions for funding; providing for reports; 6 and fixing penalties for violations of the pharmaceutical 7 assistance program," further defining "eligible claimant." 8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 9 hereby enacts as follows: 10 Section 1. The definition of "eligible claimant" in section 11 3 of the act of November 4, 1983 (P.L.217, No.63), known as the 12 Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly Act, is 13 amended to read: 14 Section 3. Definitions. 15 The following words and phrases when used in this act shall 16 have the meanings given to them in this section unless the 17 context clearly indicates otherwise: 18 * * *
1 "Eligible claimant." A resident of the Commonwealth 65 years 2 of age and over, a widow or widower 50 years of age or older or 3 any person who is totally disabled, whose annual income is less 4 than the maximum annual income, and who is not otherwise 5 qualified for public assistance under the act of June 13, 1967 6 (P.L.31, No.21), known as the Public Welfare Code. 7 * * * 8 Section 2.
