                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for resident status for hunting
     3     or furtaking licenses.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 2702(a) of Title 34 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 2702.  Residents.
     9     (a)  General rule.--Any person [who]:
    10         (1)  who has been domiciled in this Commonwealth for a
    11     period of 30 consecutive days preceding the date of
    12     application for a license and who establishes identity, age
    13     and the fact of bona fide residency to the satisfaction of
    14     the commission by production of a motor vehicle driver's
    15     license, proof of payment of State or local personal income
    16     taxes or some other positive means of identification; or

     1         (2)  who owns 50 or more contiguous acres of land within
     2     this Commonwealth and who meets all of the following
     3     requirements:
     4             (i)  the 50 or more contiguous acres of land are
     5         owned by a natural person individually or as tenants by
     6         the entirety, or by tenants in common of four or fewer
     7         natural persons;
     8             (ii)  the 50 or more contiguous acres of land are
     9         open to public hunting and trapping and shall remain open
    10         to hunting and trapping during the hunting license year
    11         for which the license is issued; and
    12             (iii)  the applicant furnishes proof of ownership of
    13         50 or more contiguous acres of land to the issuing agent,
    14  shall for the purpose of this chapter be a resident of this
    15  Commonwealth.

    17     Section 2.  This act shall apply to license years beginning
    18  on or after July 1, 2003.
    19     Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
