        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           OCTOBER 6, 1998

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring the memory of Douglas L. Rohrbaugh, a lieutenant with
     2     the Laurel Fire Company No. 1 of Windsor Township, York
     3     County, who was killed while he directed traffic at an
     4     accident in the township.

     5     WHEREAS, Douglas L. Rohrbaugh, a lieutenant with the Laurel
     6  Fire Company No. 1 of Windsor Township, York County, made the
     7  ultimate sacrifice on June 26, 1998, when he lost his life while
     8  directing traffic at an accident scene in the township; and
     9     WHEREAS, Douglas L. Rohrbaugh was struck from behind by a
    10  pickup truck that left the scene of the accident; and
    11     WHEREAS, Douglas L. Rohrbaugh volunteered with the fire
    12  company for 23 years, first as a firefighter, then as a fire
    13  policeman and lastly as a lieutenant of the fire police at the
    14  time of his death; and
    15     WHEREAS, Douglas L. Rohrbaugh belonged to the York County and
    16  Pennsylvania fire police associations and the Steamorama Club
    17  and was a former Cub Scout leader and the chairman of Windsor
    18  Days; and


     1     WHEREAS, Douglas L. Rohrbaugh, 52 years of age, was a machine
     2  operator at Primex Technologies in Red Lion Borough, York
     3  County; and
     4     WHEREAS, Douglas L. Rohrbaugh is survived by his three
     5  children, Angie, Amanda and Gary, and his mother, Mary;
     6  therefore be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the memory
     8  of Douglas L. Rohrbaugh, a lieutenant with the Laurel Fire
     9  Company No. 1 of Windsor Township, York County, who gave his
    10  life in a most unselfish manner on June 26, 1998.
