AN ACT
1 Making an additional appropriation to the Department of
2 Transportation.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Appropriation.
6 The sum of $1,200,000, or as much thereof as may be
7 necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of
8 Transportation for the fiscal year July 1, 1988, to June 30,
9 1989, for payment to engineering districts for each to hire 41
10 summertime employees 16 years of age or older and 22 years of
11 age or under for a 12-week period beginning June 3, 1989, to
12 work on highway maintenance or otherwise at $5 per hour.
13 Section 2. Lapse.
14 The appropriation in section 1 shall not lapse at the end of
15 the fiscal year but shall continue until August 30, 1989.
16 Section 3. Effective date.
17 This act shall take effect immediately.
