A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of November 2015 as "Adoption Awareness
Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Every child deserves a loving, nurturing permanent
home where they can feel cared for, safe and supported; and
WHEREAS, The family is the foundation of any society and
children need permanent love, care and protection of a family to
grow into healthy and productive adults; and
WHEREAS, Adoption provides children with a lifetime of
emotional and legal connections to a family; and
WHEREAS, As of 2015, there were more than 2,500 children in
this Commonwealth waiting to be adopted; and
WHEREAS, For children waiting to be adopted in this
Commonwealth, the average length of stay in care is more than
