        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           MARCH 24, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating April 2, 2008, as "Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Day."

     2     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, formerly the
     3  Pennsylvania Farmers' Association, was created 58 years ago to
     4  provide Pennsylvania farmers and rural citizens with a strong
     5  voice in government; and
     6     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau represents more than
     7  42,651 farm and rural families and has 54 county farm bureau
     8  organizations active in 65 counties in this Commonwealth; and
     9     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau has provided vital
    10  guidance for the development and enactment of policies that

     1  advance agriculture, agribusiness and rural life in this
     2  Commonwealth; and
     3     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau has been and continues
     4  to be a strong voice for agriculture at the national, State and
     5  local levels; therefore be it
     6     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives, in recognition
     7  of the important work of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, designate
     8  April 2, 2008, as "Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Day"; and be it
     9  further
    10     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives extend
    11  congratulations and appreciation to Pennsylvania Farm Bureau
    12  members for their contributions to this Commonwealth and to the
    13  economic welfare of this Commonwealth's agricultural industry.
