                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Condemning New York City's decision to suspend recycling of
     2     plastics and glass.

     3     WHEREAS, New York City has suspended the recycling of
     4  plastics for one year and the recycling of glass for two years;
     5  and
     6     WHEREAS, New York City will generate more garbage, and the
     7  city's decision to suspend the recycling of plastics and glass
     8  will be a detriment to the environment; and
     9     WHEREAS, New York City's suspension of the recycling of
    10  plastics and glass will increase the amount of garbage dumped in
    11  the Superior Greentree Landfill and landfills throughout the
    12  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and
    13     WHEREAS, Pennsylvanians have made recycling work and have
    14  continued to meet Statewide recycling goals; and
    15     WHEREAS, Pennsylvanians are working to conserve landfill


     1  space for our future disposal needs, not the needs of New York
     2  City; therefore be it
     3     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives condemn New York
     4  City's decision to suspend the recycling of plastics and glass.
