A RESOLUTION 1 Congratulating the Centre County Historical Society on the 100th 2 anniversary of its founding. 3 WHEREAS, Former Governor James A. Beaver, a prominent citizen 4 of Centre County and distinguished Civil War general, was 5 instrumental in the formation of the Centre County Historical 6 Society; and 7 WHEREAS, The Centre County Historical Society was officially 8 incorporated on April 25, 1904, as the Linn Historical Society; 9 and 10 WHEREAS, For 100 years the Centre County Historical Society 11 has endeavored to promote interest in Centre County and preserve 12 local history; and
1 WHEREAS, The Centre County Historical Society has 2 successfully achieved its purpose through the efforts of its 3 community-based board members and countless volunteers; 4 therefore be it 5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate the 6 Centre County Historical Society on its 100th anniversary and 7 recognize its important contributions to the Centre County 8 community.
