A RESOLUTION
1 Honoring Mayfair Festival of the Arts in the City of Allentown
2 on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.
3 WHEREAS, Area business, government and community leaders
4 founded Mayfair Inc. in 1986 to celebrate people, cultures,
5 community and the arts; and
6 WHEREAS, The annual festival has continued to promote visual
7 and performing arts, cultural diversity and the City of
8 Allentown's beautiful parks in a family friendly manner; and
9 WHEREAS, Mayfair Festival of the Arts exposes patrons to new
10 artists by showcasing talented local and national artists; and
11 WHEREAS, With hundreds of thousands of visitors annually and
12 more than 250 performances, programs, events and displays,
13 Mayfair Festival of the Arts has become one of the largest
1 visual and performing arts festivals in the Northeast; and
2 WHEREAS, Mayfair Festival of the Arts drives tourism and
3 promotes economic development in the City of Allentown; and
4 WHEREAS, Mayfair Festival of the Arts has truly become a
5 tradition in the City of Allentown and the Lehigh Valley region;
6 and
7 WHEREAS, Mayfair Festival of the Arts is being held May 25
8 through 29, 2006; therefore be it
9 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor Mayfair
10 Festival of the Arts in the City of Allentown on the occasion of
11 its 20th anniversary; and be it further
12 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
13 the Mayfair Festival of the Arts, 601 West Hamilton Street,
14 Allentown PA 18104-2103.
