A RESOLUTION 1 Designating November 2002 as "Home Care Month" in Pennsylvania. 2 WHEREAS, Home care is the most preferred method of health 3 care delivery among disabled, elderly and chronically ill 4 individuals eager to live independently in their own homes; and 5 WHEREAS, Home care in the United States is a growing 6 alternative to hospitalization for acute and chronic illnesses, 7 serving millions of Americans each year; and 8 WHEREAS, Home care allows families to stay together and 9 provides for happier and healthier communities; and 10 WHEREAS, Thousands of everyday heroes such as home care 11 nurses, therapists, home care aides, volunteers and home care 12 administrators and their staff work tirelessly to provide 13 professional health care and support to millions of Americans in 14 need of quality health services; and 15 WHEREAS, These dedicated home care professionals and
1 volunteers form a support network that will continue to play a 2 vital role in health care delivery for the nation's aging 3 population; and 4 WHEREAS, The National Association for Home Care and home care 5 agencies across the Unites States are recognizing the month of 6 November 2002 as "National Home Care Month" and are calling on 7 all Americans to observe this occasion with appropriate 8 ceremonies and activities; therefore be it 9 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate 10 November 2002 as "Home Care Month" in Pennsylvania.
