                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, providing for the reporting of theft
     3     of firearm.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     8  § 6127.  Reporting of theft of firearm.
     9     An owner of a firearm that is stolen shall report the theft
    10  to either the municipal police department of the municipality
    11  where the theft occurred, if any, or to the Pennsylvania State
    12  Police within 72 hours of discovering that the firearm is
    13  stolen.
    14     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
