AN ACT
1 Amending the act of July 25, 1961 (P.L.857, No.372), entitled,
2 as amended, "An act regulating the manufacture of stuffed
3 toys intended for sale, gift, or use in Pennsylvania;
4 providing for registration of such manufacturers, the paying
5 of a fee for such registration, the issuance of a certificate
6 of registration to such manufacturers; providing that
7 material used in such toys shall be new and free from
8 dangerous or harmful substances; providing for disinfection
9 of such material containing products of animal origin; and
10 prescribing penalties," reducing the registration fee.
11 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
12 hereby enacts as follows:
13 Section 1. Section 3 of the act of July 25, 1961 (P.L.857,
14 No.372), referred to as the Stuffed Toy Manufacturing Act,
15 amended April 18, 1978 (P.L.62, No.31), is amended to read:
16 Section 3. (a) Manufacturers of all stuffed toys
17 manufactured in this Commonwealth or intended for sale, gift or
18 use in this Commonwealth shall register with the department on
19 forms as provided by the department. The forms shall set forth,
20 among other items, the name and address of the manufacturer, the
21 type of stuffed toys manufactured, the composition of the
22 stuffing and such other information as the department may
1 require. A fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) shall accompany
2 each registration. This registration shall be valid for a period
3 of one (1) year and may be renewed, annually, by filling out of
4 such forms as shall be prescribed by the department, which form
5 shall be accompanied by payment of a fee of [twenty-five
6 ($25.00) dollars] five dollars ($5.00).
7 (b) Any manufacturer which demonstrates to the satisfaction
8 of the secretary that it is a charitable or nonprofit
9 organization is exempted from payment of the registration fee
10 authorized in this section.
11 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
