AN ACT

 

1Amending the act of March 2, 1956 (1955 P.L.1211, No.376),
2entitled "An act providing for and regulating the licensing
3and practice of practical nursing; imposing duties on the
4State Board of Nurse Examiners; and imposing penalties,"
5further providing for refusal, suspension or revocation of
6license and grounds.

7The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8hereby enacts as follows:

9Section 1. Section 16 of the act of March 2, 1956 (1955
10P.L.1211, No.376), known as the Practical Nurse Law, is amended
11by adding a subsection to read:

12Section 16. Refusal, Suspension or Revocation of License;
13Grounds.--* * *

14(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of this act, if the
15licensee is convicted of an offense under section 13(a)(12) of
16the act of April 14, 1972 (P.L.233, No.64), known as "The
17Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act," or a
18substantially similar offense in another state, the board shall
19permanently revoke the license of the licensee.

20Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
