A RESOLUTION
1Designating May 10, 2014, as "National Association of Letter
2Carriers Food Drive Day" in Pennsylvania.
3WHEREAS, The National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp
4out Hunger! food drive is taking place on May 10, 2014; and
5WHEREAS, This year will mark the 22nd anniversary for the
6nation's largest single-day food drive; and
7WHEREAS, Last year, local letter carriers delivered more than
8330,000 pounds of food to Second Harvest and its member agencies
9for distribution to families in need in Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe,
10Northampton, Pike and Wayne Counties; and
11WHEREAS, The donations provide a critical boost for the
12summer months, which is a time when supplies are low and school
13lunch programs are not available for area youth; therefore be it
14RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate May 10,
152014, as "National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive
1Day" in Pennsylvania.
