                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the penalty for
     3     the offense of impersonating a public servant.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4912 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 4912.  Impersonating a public servant.
     9     A person commits a misdemeanor of the [second] first degree
    10  if he falsely pretends to hold a position in the public service
    11  with intent to induce another to submit to such pretended
    12  official authority or otherwise to act in reliance upon that
    13  pretense to his prejudice.
    14     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
