                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further defining "intersection."

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The definition of "intersection" in section 102
     6  of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended
     7  to read:
     8  § 102.  Definitions.
     9     Subject to additional definitions contained in subsequent
    10  provisions of this title which are applicable to specific
    11  provisions of this title, the following words and phrases when
    12  used in this title shall have, unless the context clearly
    13  indicates otherwise, the meanings given to them in this section:

    15     "Intersection."
    16         (1)  The area embraced within the prolongation or
    17     connection of the lateral curb lines, or, if none, then the


     1     lateral boundary lines of the roadways of two highways or a
     2     highway and a trafficway which join one another at, or
     3     approximately at, right angles, or the area within which
     4     vehicles traveling upon different highways or a highway and a
     5     trafficway joining at any other angle may come in conflict.
     6         (2)  Where a highway or trafficway includes two roadways
     7     30 feet or more apart, then every crossing of each roadway of
     8     the divided highway or trafficway by an intersecting highway
     9     or trafficway shall be regarded as a separate intersection.
    10     In the event the intersecting highway or trafficway also
    11     includes two roadways 30 feet or more apart, then every
    12     crossing of two roadways of the highways or trafficways shall
    13     be regarded as a separate intersection.

    15     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
