AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Education for the
2 purchase of textbooks and science laboratory equipment for
3 public school students.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Appropriation.
7 There is hereby appropriated to the Department of Education
8 for the fiscal year 2001-2002 a sum of money not to exceed $40
9 per pupil for all public school pupils enrolled as of February
10 1, 2001, in the public schools to be distributed by the
11 Department of Education to the public school districts on a per
12 pupil basis and to be used for the purchase of new textbooks or
13 science laboratory equipment. These funds must be expended by
14 June 30, 2002.
15 Section 2. Effective date.
1 This act shall take effect immediately.
