                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, providing for electricity or natural
     3     gas supplied to nonprofit rescue squads or ambulance
     4     services.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Section 1511 of Title 66 of the Pennsylvania
     8  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     9  § 1511.  Electricity and natural gas supplied to certain
    10             organizations.
    11     Any public utility company supplying electric or natural gas
    12  service shall, upon application, permit a volunteer fire
    13  company, a nonprofit rescue squad or ambulance service or a
    14  nonprofit senior citizen center to elect to have its electric or

     1  natural gas service rendered pursuant to a rate schedule which
     2  provides equivalent charges for such service as residential
     3  rates upon execution of a contract for a minimum term of one
     4  year.
     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
