                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
     3     powers of district justices.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1513 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 1513.  Powers of district justices.
     9     Every district justice shall have power to issue every lawful
    10  process to or to be served or enforced by system and related
    11  personnel and to make such lawful orders as his official
    12  business may require. A district justice may take affidavits and
    13  acknowledgments outside his magisterial district but within this
    14  Commonwealth. A district justice may suspend the driver's
    15  license of a person who fails to pay a fine which the district
    16  justice imposed and shall, if the driver's license is suspended,
    17  notify the Bureau of Motor Vehicles within the Department of
    18  Transportation of the suspension.


     1     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
