AN ACT
1 Prohibiting the imposition and collection of certain charges for
2 sewage or refuse service to certain vacated real property.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Prohibition.
6 On and after the effective date of this section, no sewage
7 charge or refuse collection charge shall be assessed, levied
8 upon or collected from the owner of any vacated residential or
9 commercial property. For purposes of this section, the term
10 "vacated" means a building or home which is without occupants
11 for a period of 30 continuous days and to which water service
12 has been terminated.
13 Section 2. Applicability.
14 The provisions of this act shall apply to any county, city,
15 borough, incorporated town, township or home rule municipality
16 or to any authority organized under the act of May 2, 1945
17 (P.L.382, No.164), known as the Municipality Authorities Act of
1 1945.
2 Section 3. Effective date.
3 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
