        AS AMENDED ON SECOND CONSIDERATION, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
           MAY 23, 2007

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for organization of the
     3     Pennsylvania Game Commission.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 301(c) of Title 34 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 301.  Organization of commission.
     9     * * *
    10     (c)  Term of office and compensation.--
    11         (1)  [The members] A MEMBER of the commission shall hold   <--
    12     office for NOT MORE THAN TWO terms of [eight] four years       <--
    13     each, SUBJECT TO SENATE CONFIRMATION PURSUANT TO LAW FOR EACH  <--
    14     TERM, and may continue to hold office for a period of time
    15     not to exceed six months or until a successor is appointed
    16     and qualified, whichever occurs first. THEREAFTER, THE PERSON  <--


     1     SHALL BE INELIGIBLE TO HOLD THAT OFFICE.
     2         (2)  A member of the commission appointed to fill a
     3     vacancy for a period of [four] two years or less may be
     4     eligible for appointment to a full [eight-year] four-year
     5     term. A member of the commission who serves a full [eight-     <--
     6     year] four-year term or fills a vacancy for a period of more
     7     than [four] two years shall not be eligible for reappointment
     8     to the commission until a period of [eight] four years
     9     expires. TERM. [A MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION WHO SERVES A FULL   <--
    10     EIGHT-YEAR TERM OR FILLS A VACANCY FOR A PERIOD OF MORE THAN
    11     FOUR YEARS SHALL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR REAPPOINTMENT TO THE
    12     COMMISSION UNTIL A PERIOD OF EIGHT YEARS EXPIRES.]
    13         (3)  Commissioners shall receive no compensation for
    14     their services, but may be reimbursed for travel expenses.

    16     Section 2.  The amendment of 34 Pa.C.S. § 301(c) shall apply
    17  to members of the commission appointed on or after the effective
    18  date of this section.
    19     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
