AN ACT
1 Amending Title 30 (Fish) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, restricting the possession, sale, importation or
3 release of snakehead fish.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 30 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 2508. Restrictions on possession, sale, importation or
9 release of snakehead fish.
10 (a) General rule.--No person shall possess, sell, offer for
11 sale or release in this Commonwealth or import, bring or cause
12 to be brought or imported into this Commonwealth a snakehead
13 fish of the genus Channa or the genus Ophicephalus.
14 (b) Penalty.--Any person who violates this section commits a
15 misdemeanor of the third degree.
16 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
