                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of July 7, 1994 (P.L.421, No.70), entitled "An
     2     act providing for protection of public health and prevention
     3     of fraud and deception by prohibiting the manufacture or sale
     4     of, the offering for sale or exposing for sale of or the
     5     having in possession with intent to sell adulterated,
     6     misbranded or deleterious foods; and making repeals," further
     7     providing for inspection, sampling and analysis.

     8     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     9  hereby enacts as follows:
    10     Section 1.  Section 12 of the act of July 7, 1994 (P.L.421,
    11  No.70), known as the Food Act, is amended by adding subsections
    12  to read:
    13  Section 12.  Inspection, sampling and analysis.

    15     (f)  Testing and rapid response.--The department shall test
    16  for food-related illnesses in humans along with determining any
    17  threats to the food supply. The department shall design a rapid
    18  response to any poison threat to the food supply.
    19     (g)  Information sharing.--The department shall share any


     1  relevant testing information procured pursuant to subsection (f)
     2  with the Department of Health, the Department of Environmental
     3  Protection or any other agency that could provide the public a
     4  benefit from the results of their testing.
     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
