AN ACT
1 Amending Title 74 (Transportation) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further defining "local transportation
3 organization."
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The definition of "local transportation
7 organization" in section 1301 of Title 74 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
9 § 1301. Definitions.
10 The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
11 shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
12 context clearly indicates otherwise:

14 "Local transportation organization." Any political
15 subdivision or any mass transportation, port, redevelopment or
16 airport authority now or hereafter organized under the Laws of
1 Pennsylvania or pursuant to an interstate compact or otherwise
2 empowered to render, contract for the rendering or assist in the
3 rendering of transportation service in a limited area in the
4 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, even though it may also render or
5 assist in rendering transportation service in adjacent states.
6 The term also includes any nonprofit association of
7 transportation providers within this Commonwealth.
