AN ACT
1 Providing for authority of housing authority police in second
2 class cities.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Housing authority police in second class cities.
6 Housing authorities police in a city of the second class
7 shall have the power to appoint police officers, who shall have
8 the same rights, powers and duties as other police officers in
9 this Commonwealth with respect to the property and enforcing
10 order on and adjacent to the grounds and buildings of the
11 authority, including, but not limited to, those powers conferred
12 pursuant to 42 Pa.C.S. Ch. 89, Subch. D (relating to municipal
13 police jurisdiction). Housing authority police officers shall
14 complete the same course of instruction as is required for
15 municipal police officers.
16 Section 2. Effective date.
17 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
