AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Education for Head
2 Start grants.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The sum of $1,000,000, or as much thereof as may
6 be necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of
7 Education for the fiscal year July 1, 1999, to June 30, 2000,
8 for grants to school districts to be used as matching funds for
9 Federal Head Start funds. This appropriation shall be in
10 addition to any other amounts appropriated for the same or
11 similar purposes for the fiscal year July 1, 1999, to June 30,
12 2000.
13 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
