                               A JOINT RESOLUTION

     1  Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth
     2     of Pennsylvania, providing for a maximum number of terms of
     3     office for members of the General Assembly.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby resolves as follows:
     6     Section 1.  The following amendment to the Constitution of
     7  Pennsylvania is proposed in accordance with Article XI:
     8     That section 3 of Article II be amended to read:
     9  § 3.  Terms of members.
    10     Senators shall be elected for the term of [four] six years
    11  and Representatives for the term of [two] three years. Senators
    12  shall not be eligible for election to more than two full
    13  consecutive terms of office. Representatives shall not be
    14  eligible for election to more than three full consecutive terms
    15  of office.
    16     Section 2.  The amendment proposed in section 1 shall not
    17  apply to members of the General Assembly holding office on the


     1  effective date of the amendment.
