AN ACT 1 Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled, 2 as amended, "An act relating to counties of the first, third, 3 fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth classes; amending, 4 revising, consolidating and changing the laws relating 5 thereto; relating to imposition of excise taxes by counties, 6 including authorizing imposition of an excise tax on the 7 rental of motor vehicles by counties of the first class; and 8 providing for regional renaissance initiatives," prohibiting 9 acceptance of gratuities by certain persons. 10 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 11 hereby enacts as follows: 12 Section 1. The act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), 13 known as The County Code, is amended by adding a section to 14 read: 15 Section 415. Acceptance of Gratuities Prohibited.--(a) No 16 county elected official, employe, agent or any campaign 17 committee or political action committee associated with any of 18 them shall accept any gift, contribution, loan or any other item 19 of monetary value from a vendor doing business with or for the 20 county. This prohibition shall also apply to an agent or close 21 or familial relation to such vendor.
1 (b) Any vendor or vendor associate found guilty of violating 2 this section commits an unfair trade practice within the meaning 3 of and subject to the provisions of the act of December 17, 1968 4 (P.L.1224, No.387), known as the "Unfair Trade Practices and 5 Consumer Protection Law." 6 Section 2.
