AN ACT
1 Regulating the storage and handling of flammable and combustible
2 liquids in portable containers.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Short title.
6 This act shall be known and may be cited as the Flammable and
7 Combustible Liquids Container Act.
8 Section 2. Portable container specifications.
9 (a) General rule.--The Pennsylvania State Police shall
10 promulgate regulations to provide specifications for the storage
11 and handling of flammable and combustible liquids in portable
12 containers.
13 (b) Color identification.--The regulations shall provide, at
14 a minimum, that portable containers be color coded to properly
15 identify the contents in the containers as follows:
16 (1) Blue shall represent kerosene.
17 (2) Yellow shall represent diesel fuel.
1 (3) Red shall represent gasoline.
2 No other color may be used for the storage of the flammable and
3 combustible liquids identified in this subsection.
4 Section 3. Enforcement.
5 The Director of the Pennsylvania State Police, Fire Marshall
6 Division, shall have the power and duty to enforce this act and
7 may prescribe penalties for violations of this act.
8 Section 4. Effective date.
9 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
