AN ACT
1 Providing that, in a lottery operated by the Commonwealth, there
2 shall be no drawings or selections of winning tickets or
3 shares on Sunday.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Lottery drawings or selections prohibited on Sunday.
7 Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law, when a
8 lottery is operated by the Commonwealth, the stated purpose of
9 which is to provide certain services to persons 65 years of age
10 or older, there shall be no drawings or selections of winning
11 tickets or shares on Sundays.
12 Section 2. Repeal.
13 Section 6 of the act of August 26, 1971 (P.L.351, No.91),
14 known as the State Lottery Law, is repealed insofar as it is
15 inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
16 Section 3. Effective date.
17 This act shall take effect immediately.
