AN ACT

 

1Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, further providing for disclosure of
3addresses.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 6112 of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8§ 6112. Disclosure [of addresses].

9(a) Addresses.--

10(1) During the course of a proceeding under this
11chapter, the court or hearing officer may consider whether
12the plaintiff or plaintiff's family or the defendant or 
13defendant's family is endangered by disclosure of the
14permanent or temporary address of the plaintiff, defendant or
15minor children. [Neither in the pleadings nor during
16proceedings or hearings under this chapter shall the court or
17hearing officer require disclosure of the address of a

1domestic violence program. Where]

2(2) A court or hearing officer may not require
3disclosure of the address of a domestic violence program in
4the pleadings or during proceedings or hearings under this
5chapter.

6(3) If the court concludes that the defendant poses a
7threat of continued danger to the plaintiff or if the 
8plaintiff poses a threat of continued danger to the defendant
9and [where] if the plaintiff or defendant requests that his
10or her address, telephone number and information about
11whereabouts not be disclosed, the court shall enter an order
12directing that law enforcement agencies, human service
13agencies and school districts [(both] in which a plaintiff's
14or defendant's child in custody of the plaintiff or defendant
15is or has been enrolled[)] shall not disclose the presence of
16the plaintiff, defendant or the child in the jurisdiction or
17district or furnish any address, telephone number or any
18other demographic information about the plaintiff, defendant
19and child except by further order of the court.

20(b) Social Security numbers.--Notwithstanding any other
21provision of law, the Social Security number of a plaintiff or
22plaintiff's family member or of the defendant or the defendant's
23family member may not be disclosed by the court or a hearing
24officer during the course of a proceeding under this chapter or
25in a pleading related to this chapter.

26Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
