AN ACT
1Amending Title 35 (Health and Safety) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, <-in grants to fire companies and
3volunteer services, further providing for award of grants.
4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:
6Section 1. Section 7813(b) of Title 35 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8§ 7813. Award of grants.

10(b) Limits.--
11(1) Except as provided in paragraph (3), grants shall be
12not less than $2,500 and not more than $15,000 per fire
13company.
14(2) Grants may be awarded on a pro rata basis if the
15total dollar amount of the approved application exceeds the
16amount of funds appropriated by the General Assembly for this
1purpose.
2(3) In a municipality where there are two or more
3volunteer fire companies and if two or more volunteer fire
4companies consolidated their use of equipment, firefighters
5and services [within [five<-] ten years preceding the date of
6the current year application submission deadline<-], the
7consolidated entity shall be deemed eligible to receive a
8grant not to exceed the amount of the combined total for
9which the individual companies would have been eligible had
10they not consolidated.
