1Amending Title 4 (Amusements) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, further defining "progressive system"; and further
3providing for regulatory authority of the board.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. The definition of "progressive system" in section
71103 of Title 4 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is
8amended to read:

9§ 1103. Definitions.

10The following words and phrases when used in this part shall
11have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
12context clearly indicates otherwise:

14"Progressive system." A computerized system linking slot
15machines in one or more licensed facilities within this
16Commonwealth, or within this Commonwealth and another state, as 
17authorized under this title, and offering one or more common
18progressive payouts based on the amounts wagered.

2Section 2. Section 1207(6) of Title 4 is amended to read:

3§ 1207. Regulatory authority of board.

4The board shall have the power and its duties shall be to:

6(6) Prescribe criteria and conditions for the operation
7of slot machine progressive systems. A wide area progressive
8slot system shall be collectively administered by
9participating slot machine licensees in accordance with the
10terms of a written agreement executed by each participating
11slot machine licensee and approved by the board. The board 
12may enter into an interstate compact or reciprocal agreement 
13with another state for the conduct and administration of a 
14multistate progressive system. The board shall promulgate 
15regulations prescribing criteria and conditions for 
16interstate compacts and reciprocal agreements.
