AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for fines for certain violations
3 committed in emergency response areas; and making an
4 editorial correction.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 3325 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
9 § 3325. Duty of driver on approach of emergency vehicle.

11 (c) Fines in emergency response area.--The fine for any of
12 the following violations, when committed in an emergency
13 response area manned by police, firefighters and/or emergency
14 medical technicians acting in their official capacity, shall be
15 double the usual amount:
16 Section 3102 (relating to obedience to authorized
17 persons directing traffic).
18 Section 3111 (relating to obedience to traffic-
1 control devices).
2 Section 3114 (relating to flashing signals).
3 Section 3302 (relating to meeting vehicle proceeding
4 in opposite direction).
5 Section 3303 (relating to overtaking vehicle on the
6 left).
7 Section 3304 (relating to overtaking vehicle on the
8 right).
9 Section 3305 (relating to limitations on overtaking
10 on the left).
11 Section 3306 (relating to limitations on driving on
12 left side of roadway).
13 Section 3307 (relating to no-passing zones).
14 Section 3310 (relating to following too closely).
15 Section 3312 (relating to limited access highway
16 entrances and exits).
17 Section 3323 (relating to stop signs and yield
18 signs).
19 Section 3325 (relating to duty of driver on approach
20 of emergency vehicle).
21 Section 3361 (relating to driving vehicle at safe
22 speed).
23 Section 3364 (relating to minimum speed regulation).
24 Section 3707 (relating to driving or stopping close
25 to fire apparatus).
26 Section 3710 (relating to stopping at intersection or
27 crossing to prevent obstruction).
28 Section 3714 (relating to careless driving).
29 Section 3715 (relating to restriction on alcoholic
30 beverages).

9 (c) Fines to be doubled.--The fine for any of the following
10 violations, when committed in a construction or maintenance area
11 manned by workers acting in their official capacity, shall be
12 double the usual amount:
13 Section 3102 (relating to obedience to authorized
14 persons directing traffic).
15 Section 3111 (relating to obedience to traffic-
16 control devices).
17 Section 3112 (relating to traffic-control signals).
18 Section 3114 (relating to flashing signals).
19 Section 3302 (relating to meeting vehicle proceeding
20 in opposite direction).
21 Section 3303 (relating to overtaking vehicle on the
22 left).
23 Section 3304 (relating to overtaking vehicle on the
24 right).
25 Section 3305 (relating to limitations on overtaking
26 on the left).
