                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for false
     3     identification to law enforcement officers and authorities.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4914 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 4914.  False identification to law enforcement officers and
     9             authorities.
    10     (a)  [Offense] Offenses defined.--A person commits an offense
    11  if he:
    12         (1)  submits false identification to a law enforcement
    13     officer, whether orally or in writing, with intent to conceal
    14     a true identity; or
    15         (2)  furnishes law enforcement authorities with false

     1     information about his identity after being informed by a law
     2     enforcement officer who is in uniform or who has identified
     3     himself as a law enforcement officer that the person is the
     4     subject of an official investigation of a violation of law.
     5     (b)  Grading.--
     6         (1)  An offense under subsection (a)(1) is a misdemeanor
     7     of the second degree.
     8         (2)  An offense under [this section] subsection (a)(2) is
     9     a misdemeanor of the third degree.
    10     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
