| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania |
2 | Consolidated Statutes, further providing for standards of |
3 | service and facilities. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Section 1504 of Title 66 of the Pennsylvania |
7 | Consolidated Statutes is amended to read: |
8 | § 1504. Standards of service and facilities. |
9 | (a) General rule.--The commission may, after reasonable |
10 | notice and hearing, upon its own motion or upon complaint: |
11 | (1) Prescribe as to service and facilities, including |
12 | the crossing of facilities, just and reasonable standards, |
13 | classifications, regulations and practices to be furnished, |
14 | imposed, observed and followed by any or all public |
15 | utilities. |
16 | (2) Prescribe adequate and reasonable standards for the |
17 | measurement of quantity, quality, pressure, initial voltage |
18 | or other condition pertaining to the supply of the service of |
19 | any and all public utilities. |

1 | (3) Prescribe reasonable regulations for the examination |
2 | and testing of such service, and for the measurement thereof. |
3 | (4) Prescribe or approve reasonable rules, regulations, |
4 | specifications and standards to secure the accuracy of all |
5 | meters and appliances for measurement. |
6 | (5) Provide for the examination and testing of any and |
7 | all appliances used for the measurement of any service of any |
8 | public utility. |
9 | (b) Overhead high voltage electric transmission lines.--The |
10 | commission shall prescribe regulations for the siting and |
11 | construction of all overhead high voltage electric transmission |
12 | lines of public utilities which have a design voltage of 50,000 |
13 | volts and higher. |
14 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
