        INTRODUCED BY BOSCOLA, KASUNIC, GREENLEAF, FONTANA, BROWNE,
           KITCHEN, RHOADES, MUSTO, GORDNER, O'PAKE, ERICKSON, COSTA,
           RAFFERTY, TARTAGLIONE, BRUBAKER, STOUT AND FOLMER,
           JANUARY 17, 2007

        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, JANUARY 17, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the month of January 2007 and 2008 as "Blood Donor
     2     Month" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, January is observed across the country as "National
     4  Volunteer Blood Donor Month"; and
     5     WHEREAS, Every January, blood banks across the United States
     6  appeal for all eligible people to donate blood; and
     7     WHEREAS, January is traditionally a difficult month to
     8  collect blood due to holiday activity; and
     9     WHEREAS, As a result of accidents, inclement weather and
    10  serious illnesses, there is traditionally an increased demand on
    11  blood bank supplies; and
    12     WHEREAS, Donating blood is a simple, safe, lifesaving and
    13  selfless gift that millions of Americans are eligible to give;
    14  therefore be it
    15     RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the month of January 2007
    16  and 2008 as "Blood Donor Month" in Pennsylvania.
