A RESOLUTION
1 Designating March 12, 2007, as "Pennsylvania Association of
2 Conservation District Day" in Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, Organized in 1950, the Pennsylvania Association of
4 Conservation Districts, Inc. (PACD), serves as a collective
5 voice for Pennsylvania's 66 county conservation districts; and
6 WHEREAS, An integral facet in the modernization and
7 development of the conservation districts, PACD represents the
8 local districts at the State and national levels in such matters
9 as soil and water management and erosion prevention; and
10 WHEREAS, PACD is the vehicle through which Pennsylvania's
11 conservation districts communicate with the National Association
12 of Conservation Districts; and
13 WHEREAS, PACD offers technical assistance and educational
14 guidance to conservation district personnel, landowners, land
15 managers, local governments, teachers, students and people from
16 every walk of life in this Commonwealth; and
1 WHEREAS, PACD has established March 12, 2007, as "PACD Day,"
2 during which members of Pennsylvania's conservation districts
3 will meet with their State legislators to discuss legislative
4 issues and initiatives relating to soil and water conservation
5 in this Commonwealth; therefore be it
6 RESOLVED, That the Senate designate March 12, 2007, as
7 "Pennsylvania Association of Conservation District Day" in
8 Pennsylvania and pay tribute to PACD for its many years of
9 service to the conservation districts and residents of this
10 Commonwealth and extend sincere best wishes for every future
11 success as it continues its most worthy endeavors.
