SENATE RESOLUTION

No. 172 Session of 2000


        INTRODUCED BY MOWERY, LAVALLE, KITCHEN, SALVATORE, WAUGH, COSTA,
           WENGER, TILGHMAN, ROBBINS, DENT, WAGNER, THOMPSON, GERLACH,
           STOUT, O'PAKE, STAPLETON, TARTAGLIONE, PUNT, EARLL, LEMMOND,
           BOSCOLA, HOLL, SCHWARTZ AND RHOADES, MAY 9, 2000

        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, MAY 9, 2000

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Declaring that May 14 through 20, 2000, be observed as "National
     2     Nursing Home Week" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, All citizens are impacted by the present and past
     4  contributions of America's elderly persons and persons with
     5  disabilities; and
     6     WHEREAS, We salute our community's citizens now residing in
     7  nursing facilities, many of whom planted the seeds that made our
     8  communities grow and prosper; and
     9     WHEREAS, Nursing facilities provide caring and supportive
    10  services that improve quality of life for our loved ones; and
    11     WHEREAS, Member facilities of the Pennsylvania Health Care
    12  Association are providing a host of activities in observance of
    13  "National Nursing Home Week," guided by this year's theme "A
    14  Legacy of Quality"; therefore be it
    15     RESOLVED, That the Senate declare that May 14 through 20,
    16  2000, be observed as "National Nursing Home Week" in
    17  Pennsylvania and urge all citizens to join in recognizing the

     1  significant contributions of nursing facilities and caregivers
     2  in this Commonwealth and beyond.
