A RESOLUTION
1 Designating May 3, 2002, as "Civil Engineers Day" in
2 Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, The American Society of Civil Engineers observes and
4 celebrates its 150th anniversary during 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, The Philadelphia Section of the American Society of
6 Civil Engineers is observing and celebrating its 89th
7 anniversary on May 3, 2002; and
8 WHEREAS, The Philadelphia Section of the American Society of
9 Civil Engineers contributes significantly to the professional
10 development of its members; and
11 WHEREAS, The Philadelphia Section of the American Society of
12 Civil Engineers actively supports the advancement of the civil
13 engineering profession by encouraging students through
14 educational mentoring programs; and
15 WHEREAS, The Philadelphia Section of the American Society of
16 Civil Engineers actively engages in maintaining and sustaining
1 the vital infrastructure of our civilized and natural
2 environments; therefore be it
3 RESOLVED, That the Senate designate May 3, 2002, as "Civil
4 Engineers Day" in Pennsylvania and urge all citizens of this
5 Commonwealth to recognize this observance.
