A RESOLUTION 1 Directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study 2 and report on health insurance discount options for child- 3 care providers through group pooling. 4 WHEREAS, Thirty-five percent of child-care workers have 5 access to health insurance benefits; and 6 WHEREAS, Nearly two-thirds of all children under five years 7 of age are in child care; and 8 WHEREAS, Consistency in child care has been found to be 9 extremely important to a child's well-being; and 10 WHEREAS, Low pay and lack of health insurance benefits is 11 causing a higher turnover rate in the child-care field; 12 therefore be it 13 RESOLVED, That the Senate direct the Legislative Budget and 14 Finance Committee to study and report on health insurance 15 discount options for child-care providers through group pooling; 16 and be it further 17 RESOLVED, That the committee report its findings, together 18 with recommendations for remedial legislation or other
