                            A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring Gary R. Hoffman, Director of the Pennsylvania Code and
     2     Bulletin, on the occasion of his retirement.

     3     WHEREAS, Gary R. Hoffman, Director of the Pennsylvania Code
     4  and Bulletin, is retiring after 33 years of service; and
     5     WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman graduated magna cum laude from the
     6  University of Pittsburgh in 1964 and received his law degree
     7  from the University of Pittsburgh in 1967; and
     8     WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman has been a member of the Bar of the
     9  Supreme Court of Pennsylvania since 1967 and is also a member of
    10  the Bar of the United States District Court for the Western
    11  District of Pennsylvania; and
    12     WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman has served as Director of the
    13  Pennsylvania Code and Bulletin since its establishment in 1969,
    14  initiating the Pennsylvania Bulletin as the official
    15  Commonwealth register and developing the Pennsylvania Code as
    16  the official codification of Commonwealth regulations; and
    17     WHEREAS, Over the past 33 years, Mr. Hoffman has overseen an


     1  operation which makes Pennsylvania administrative law accessible
     2  to the Bar, the Judiciary, regulated entities and the citizens
     3  of this Commonwealth; and
     4     WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman has served as Secretary of the Joint
     5  Committee on Documents; and
     6     WHEREAS, On a national level, Mr. Hoffman has served as an
     7  officer and president of the National Association of
     8  Administrative Codes and Registers; and
     9     WHEREAS, In community service, Mr. Hoffman has been a board
    10  member of the Swatara Township Authority, a member and two-term
    11  president of the Diabetes Foundation of Central Pennsylvania and
    12  a member of the Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz; and
    13     WHEREAS, The General Assembly, Commonwealth Government and
    14  the citizens of this Commonwealth have been enriched by the
    15  service of Gary R. Hoffman; therefore be it
    16     RESOLVED (the House of Representatives concurring), That, in
    17  appreciation of outstanding service to the Commonwealth, the
    18  General Assembly honor Gary R. Hoffman on the occasion of his
    19  retirement; and be it further
    20     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
    21  Gary R. Hoffman, Esq.
