A RESOLUTION
Recognizing November 11, 2019, as "Veterans Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Since the founding of our Commonwealth to modern day
operations and missions, Pennsylvania veterans have served our
great nation; and
WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is home to one of
the highest veteran populations in the United States, with more
than 840,000 men and women who have served our country; and
WHEREAS, As of 2017, veterans made up more than 7% of the
population in Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, Veterans thrive as members of their community,
supporting and inspiring the next generation to lead; and
WHEREAS, Veterans have a higher workforce participation than
nonveterans; and
WHEREAS, Individuals in public service have a duty to serve
those who have served our country; and

WHEREAS, "Veterans Day" reminds us of our shared
responsibility to recognize veterans service and sacrifice and
extend our continued support; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize November 11, 2019, as
"Veterans Day" in Pennsylvania.
