                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
     3     twenty-year limitation for actions upon instruments under
     4     seal.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Section 5529 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
     8  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     9  § 5529.  Twenty year limitation.
    10     (a)  Execution against personal property.--An execution
    11  against personal property must be issued within 20 years after
    12  the entry of the judgment upon which the execution is to be
    13  issued.
    14     (b)  Instruments under seal.--
    15         (1)  Notwithstanding section 5525(7) (relating to four
    16     year limitation), an action upon an instrument in writing
    17     under seal must be commenced within 20 years.
    18         (2)  This subsection shall expire June 27, 2018.
    19         (3)  This subsection shall not apply to consumer loans

     1     involving motor vehicles, boats or primarily for personal,
     2     family or household purposes.
     3     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
