SENATE BILL

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 62 (Procurement) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further defining "small business" for purposes of
     3     provisions relating to small and disadvantaged businesses.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  The definition of "small business" in section
     7  2102 of Title 62 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is
     8  amended to read:
     9  § 2102.  Definitions.
    10     Subject to section 2103 (relating to regulations), the
    11  following words and phrases when used in this chapter shall have
    12  the meanings given to them in this section unless the context
    13  clearly indicates otherwise:

    15     "Small business."  A business in the United States which is
    16  independently owned, is not dominant in its field of operation
    17  and employs 100 or fewer employees or 250 or fewer employees in
    18  the case of a business that is a manufacturing enterprise as

     1  that term is defined in section 3 of the act of May 17, 1956
     2  (1955 P.L.1609, No.537), known as the Pennsylvania Industrial
     3  Development Authority Act.
     4     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
