AN ACT
1Amending Title 35 (Health and Safety) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, further providing for duties of the
3Department of Health.
4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:
6Section 1. Section 8105(b) of Title 35 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
8§ 8105. Duties of department.

10(b) Authority.--The department shall be the lead agency for
11EMS in this Commonwealth. The department is authorized to:

13(6.1) Develop, in consultation with the Department of
14Military and Veterans Affairs and State, community and local
15organizations and agencies that have expertise in traumatic
16brain injuries and posttraumatic stress disorder, a training
17program for EMS service agencies and EMS service providers on
18recognizing and interacting with individuals suffering from a
1traumatic brain injury or posttraumatic stress disorder. The
2program shall be included in any training program approved
3under paragraph (6).
