| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An |
2 | act relating to the public school system, including certain |
3 | provisions applicable as well to private and parochial |
4 | schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the |
5 | laws relating thereto," in vocational education, further |
6 | providing for the definition of "vocational agricultural |
7 | education." |
8 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
9 | hereby enacts as follows: |
10 | Section 1. Section 1801(4) of the act of March 10, 1949 |
11 | (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is |
12 | amended to read: |
13 | Section 1801. Definitions.--The following words and phrases |
14 | as used in this article shall, unless a different meaning is |
15 | plainly required by the context, have the following meanings: |

17 | (4) "Vocational agricultural education" shall mean that form |
18 | of vocational education which [fits for the occupations |
19 | connected with the tillage of the soil, the care of domestic |
20 | animals, forestry, and other wage-earning or productive work on |

2 | to enter and advance in develops student potential for success | <-- |
3 | in entering and advancing through careers in the food, |
4 | agriculture and natural resources sciences, such as production |

7 | mechanics and engineering, biotechnology, food science, | <-- |
8 | processing and retailing, banking, agricultural education, |
9 | forestry, horticulture, landscaping, leadership and career | <-- |
10 | development, management, economics and marketing, natural |
11 | resource management, plant and soil science, power and systems |
12 | technology, rural-urban interfacing and other related fields. |
