AN ACT
1 Declaring and adopting the song "Pennsylvania," lyrics and music
2 by Gertrude Martin Rohrer, as the State song of the
3 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Official State song.
7 The song "Pennsylvania," lyrics and music by Gertrude Martin
8 Rohrer, is hereby adopted as the State song of Pennsylvania and
9 shall be the official song for all public purposes. The lyrics
10 of the song are as follows:
11 "PENNSYLVANIA"
12 Verse 1
13 Pennsylvania, my native State, to you we pledge our
14 devotion;
15 Pennsylvania, our loyalty is boundless as the ocean.
16 Chorus
17 Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, strong and true,
18 Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, hear our song to you;
1 There is beauty in your mountains,
2 There is peace upon your hills,
3 And where'er I roam my only home is Pennsylvania.
4 Verse 2
5 Pennsylvania, we thrill with pride to be your loyal
6 descendants;
7 Pennsylvania, all hail to you, the foundation of
8 independence.
